Calling All Cars - Old Time Radio

Calling All Cars

Calling All Cars aired from November 29, 1933 until September 8, 1939

The show did not focus on characters, instead, it gave its full attention to real-life crime cases, how they were solved, and how justice was delivered in the end. The only ongoing personality was Los Angeles Police Department Dispatcher, Jesse Rosenquist, who remained on the show for its entire run.

Calling All Cars was a predecessor to many police shows, including Dragnet. It was sponsored by the Rio Grande Oil Company, and aired only where their products were sold. The company claimed to have close relationships with police departments, and used that as a selling point in their commercials.
